SOLAR LAB Privacy Policy
The developer of SOLAR LAB (“Developer”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the SOLAR LAB app processes, why it is used, and how it is retained or deleted.
1. Information collected directly by the Developer
SOLAR LAB does not provide account registration and does not directly request or collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, camera data, or microphone data. If you email us with a privacy inquiry, your email address and message may be retained by the email service as necessary to respond.
2. App data stored only on your device
The app stores the following information locally to provide its features:
- Names and physical states of saved solar systems and simulation time
- Experiment history, space events, and replay-related records
- Chapter progress, predictions, and completion dates
- Language, rendering, display, and other app settings
This data is not sent to a Developer server, and SOLAR LAB is configured to exclude it from Google cloud backup and device-to-device data transfer. You can delete saved items in the app, clear app data in Android settings, or uninstall the app.
3. Advertising and consent management
SOLAR LAB uses the Unity LevelPlay SDK for advertising and mediation and is configured to support ironSource Ads, Unity Ads, Liftoff Monetize, and Google AdMob as mediated networks. Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) is used as the CMP for advertising and privacy consent choices. LevelPlay and the connected ad networks may automatically collect or process the following data for ad delivery, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention:
- IP address and approximate location inferred from it
- Pseudonymous user IDs, such as a Unity user or player ID or an app account identifier
- In-app purchase or subscription transaction information and purchase history when such information exists or is provided to an advertising SDK
- App interactions such as app launches, page views, and taps
- Ad views, clicks, rewards, and other advertising-related activity
- Information about apps installed on the device that may be processed for advertising SDK compatibility, analytics, and fraud prevention
- Diagnostic information such as launch time, hangs, and energy usage
- Android advertising ID, app set ID, and other device or account identifiers
Consistent with the Google Play Data safety declaration, these data types are processed for the following purposes:
- Approximate location: app functionality, analytics, advertising or marketing, and fraud prevention, security, and compliance
- User IDs: app functionality
- Purchase history: analytics and advertising or marketing
- App interactions: analytics, advertising or marketing, and fraud prevention, security, and compliance
- Other user activity: analytics, advertising or marketing, and fraud prevention, security, and compliance
- Apps on device: analytics, advertising or marketing, and fraud prevention, security, and compliance
- Diagnostics: app functionality, analytics, advertising or marketing, and fraud prevention, security, and compliance
- Device or other IDs: app functionality, analytics, advertising or marketing, and fraud prevention, security, and compliance
The connected advertising providers may transmit these data off the device, collect them, and share them with one another. While advertising features are in use, this processing is required for SDK operation and is not limited to ephemeral processing in memory.
Advertising data is protected in transit using TLS or equivalent encryption. Where required by regional law, UMP displays a consent form. When available, you can review your choices in the app’s “Privacy choices” setting. You can also reset or delete the advertising ID in Android settings.
For details about processing and retention, see the Unity and ironSource Privacy Policy, Unity Game Player and App User Privacy Policy, Liftoff Monetize (Vungle) Privacy Policy, and Google Privacy Policy.
4. Purposes of processing
- Saving solar systems, resuming learning, and retaining app settings
- Displaying advertising and managing advertising consent choices
- Measuring advertising performance, SDK diagnostics, and fraud prevention
- Responding to inquiries and complying with legal obligations
5. Third-party sharing and sale
The Developer does not directly sell personal data. The information described above may be processed by Unity LevelPlay, ironSource Ads, Unity Ads, Liftoff Monetize, Google AdMob, and Google as the consent-management provider while advertising features are used. If you use Android’s share sheet to share the installation link, the message is transferred to the external app you select; the Developer does not collect the recipient or message.
6. Permissions
The app itself declares Internet access and network-state permissions. The advertising SDK may merge advertising identifier and Android advertising-services permissions into the app. SOLAR LAB does not request sensitive runtime permissions for location, camera, microphone, contacts, or shared storage.
7. Children and teenagers
SOLAR LAB is not configured as a child-directed app; it is an astronomy and science education app for a broad audience and does not directly collect dates of birth or ages. When distributing the app or serving ads to children, the Developer must apply advertising and age-treatment settings that comply with the Google Play Families policy and applicable law. A parent or guardian can manage advertising privacy choices and delete app data on the device.
8. Retention and deletion
Local app data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. There is no online account to delete.
How to request deletion
- You can immediately delete SOLAR LAB data stored on your device by deleting saved items in the app, clearing the app’s data in Android settings, or uninstalling the app.
- To request deletion of a privacy inquiry and related email records held by the Developer, email hong2073@gmail.com with the subject “SOLAR LAB data deletion request.” Include the app name and the type of information you want deleted. Do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
- For advertising identifiers and advertising privacy data, reset or delete the advertising ID in Android’s advertising privacy settings and update your consent choices in the app’s “Privacy choices” menu. If you need the deletion-request path for data held by a third-party advertising provider, contact the email address above and the Developer will direct you to that provider’s process.
The Developer will respond to a verifiable deletion request within 30 days of receipt. Inquiry emails and related records controlled by the Developer will be deleted after the request is completed. Minimal records required for legal compliance, dispute handling, security, or fraud prevention may be retained for the period required by applicable law or the third-party provider’s published retention period. The actual deletion and retention of data processed by advertising and consent providers is subject to each provider’s policy and verification process.
9. Security
The Developer prioritizes data minimization and local storage. Data transmitted by third-party SDKs is subject to their security procedures and transport encryption. No electronic storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when app features, SDKs, or legal requirements change. Material changes will update the effective date and, where appropriate, be announced in the app or store listing.
